What is a Meal Plan?

A Meal Plan unlocks delicious meals, coffee, snacks, and more, at 13 locations across campus. Your Meal Plan includes Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars, conveniently loaded onto your student ID. No need to carry additional cards or cash! Download The Get Mobile App to go digital.

 

How do I select or update my meal plan?

You can select or update your meal plan through the Eagle Dining website

  • Under the Meal Plan tab, select your classification (Freshman, Upperclassmen, Commuter)
  • Select your meal plan and click Add To Cart
    • NOTE: You have the option to add additional Seymour Bucks (flex spending -- Seymour Bucks roll over from semester to semester, Bonus Buck expires at the end of each semester)
  • Proceed to Cart
  • Make any necessary changes before proceeding to Check Out
  • You MUST select GUEST Checkout (Do not signup for an account or sign in)
  • Complete the checkout process
    • Enter all the information with the * by the boxes
    • Select your payment type
    • Check the I agree to the Terms & Conditions
    • Click on COMPLETE PURCHASE

 

We will receive your order within 24 hours.  If meal plans have been already added to your SOAR account: Once we receive the order, your meal plan will be changed and corrected on your SOAR account.  Please allow 24-48 Business hours to receive the new charge.

Meal Swipes give you access to our all-you-care-to-eat dining hall, the Fresh Food Company, located in the Thad Cochran Center.

To-go Meals

In a rush and cannot stay to eat in The Fresh Food Co. Simply request a to-go box when you swipe in at The Fresh Food Company! 

Bonus Bucks
Bonus Bucks come with the purchase of certain meal plans and may be used at any USM Dining location. These expire at the end of each semester. Visit our locations page for location information, including residential dining menus and hours of operation.

 

Dollars

BONUS BUCKS

Bonus Bucks are flex spending dollars that come as part of your meal plan and expire at the end of each semester.  Bonus Bucks can be used like cash at any dining location on campus.

 

SEYMOUR BUCKS

If you run out of Bonus Bucks and/or Dining Dollars, you can purchase additional Seymour Bucks. Seymour Bucks may be used at any USM dining location. Seymour Bucks are used just like cash and one Seymour Buck is equal to one dollar. Unused Seymour Bucks continue to roll over until there is one year of non-usage. 

 

GUARANTEED DINING DOLLARS

What are Guaranteed Dining Dollars?

Guaranteed Dining Dollars is a new program for all Southern Miss Hattiesburg campus full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students under the age of 25. Each semester, students will receive $300 in Dining Dollars which can be used at any dining location on campus. Simply swipe your Student ID and the amount will be automatically deducted from your prepaid credit. This ensures convenience and flexibility for your dining needs while on campus. The Guaranteed Dining Dollars are billed to the student's account, along with other University charges. The remaining Fall Dining Dollars will roll over to the Spring. The remaining balance will reset at the end of the Spring semester. 

 

How do I use the Guaranteed Dining Dollars?

Simply swipe your Student ID (or use the Get app) at any retail dining location. The amount will be deducted from your prepaid credit.

 

Where can I use the Guaranteed Dining Dollars?

You can use your Dining Dollars at The Fresh Food Co, any retail dining location and concessions.

 

Do the Guaranteed Dining Dollars expire?

The remaining Fall Dining Dollars will roll over to the Spring. The remaining balance will reset at the end of the Spring semester. 

 

Who is required to have Guaranteed Dining Dollars?

All Southern Miss students on the Hattiesburg campus (both resident and commuter) who are degree-seeking, full-time, in-person students under the age of 25.

 

Where are the Guaranteed Dining Dollars billed to?

The Guaranteed Dining Dollars are billed to the student account, as part of University charges.

 

In what order are my flex dollars used?

When using your flex spending dollars at campus dining locations, they are used in the following order: Bonus Bucks, Guaranteed Dining Dollars, Seymour Bucks, and then extra promotions dollars. Students can see their balances using the Get Mobile app.

Guest meals come with the Unlimited Meal Plans, To The Top and Black & Gold. Guest meals can be used in The Fresh Food Company when you have friends and family visit campus.

The unlimited meal plans come with Meal Exchange. Students with To The Topor Black and Gold Meal Plans can “exchange” a meal swipe at Einstein’s or SWC 2.0. Each location has a Meal Exchange Menu to choose from. Meal exchanges reset each Sunday.

  • To The Top VIP = 5 per week (use once per day)
  • Black & Gold = 3 per week (use once per day)
